Repair

There are occasions when a machine components get over stressed and parts break. If that is the case you need a repair, send us an email on the problem you are having and the make and model of your machine. Some machines (even vintage) have parts readily available, but some are hard to get parts for. If you can send us this information beforehand, we can look to see if parts are available. At this time we only do mechanical repairs that include gears, belts, levers, and other parts that make the machine work. At this time we do not repair circuit boards or computerized components. If you have an issue with your machines computer software or computerized components, contact a service center that specializes in that particular brand.

Restoration

We restore old vintage sewing machines. If you have an old machine whether it be in a table with a treadle, hand crank, or even a motor, we can help get it back into service. We do restoration to old machines to bring them back to live and as close to the original condition that you are willing to go. How far we can get it back to the original state depend on the shape it is in now. The machines that were built in the first half of the 20th century were made incredibly well with all metal parts. You might think you have a machine, but it is a lost cause because the hand wheel is frozen or is it covered in grime and missing pieces. There is a good change that the fix is quite simple. If you have an old vintage machine that you would like to have working again, email us the brand and model number. Include photos from all angles of you machine.

If the machine is too heavy or too awkward to bring it to us, we can do a home service call for an extra $35 fee. This service is limited to a 40 mile radius of Asheville, NC. If the service/repair/restoration will be a lengthy process and can’t be completed in one day, we can pick up your machine to repair it at our shop.
