Enchanted Forrest, Clothing, and Social Media

Over the years, Enchanted Forrest has had an increase of followers on social media sites like Facebook and Instagram. My husband Duncan is a photographer and we had the idea of combining the clothing in the store with my love for styling and Duncan's love for photography. For the past five years, this formula gives the both of us great opportunity to experiment with different looks.

Asheville is unique in many ways and it is also special in the fact that there are a lot of people interested in fashion and modeling. There is even a very large Facebook group called Asheville Model Network that is a page where people share their work and experiences in local fashion. With such a large group of people interested in modeling, we have had a lot of luck by being able to do fashion photo shoots about every two weeks.

On every shoot, a model will show up at the store where I pick out three or four outfits. I keep the season in mind and really try to match the clothes with the personality of the person. After that, Duncan will photograph the looks. Fitting and shooting ends up taking about 3 hours. It is a fun thing to do and we make it worth the models' time by asking if there are any specific images they need for their portfolio. Some want head shots. Some might want a picture of their family or with their significant other. Either way, we make it happen at the end of the shoot. That way, it is a win - win for everyone.
